Mike MacDonald

I can remember sitting in the back seat of my parents car as a child in Montana, and being fascinated by the big bright Motel Signs lighting the way as we drove by.  The impact of these sightings wouldn't manifest into inspiration until much later in my life, but the faded memories still influence my work today.

I started taking pictures of vintage neon signs as a hobby, and trying to capture images of the relics before they so often were gone. Vintage Signs and advertising have had a big influence on my design and sign work that I do today. While living in Austin, TX I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to apprentice for Todd Sanders at Roadhouse Relics, making vintage style neon signs. This is where I first learned how to make hand painted signs, and I am now continuing this craft with my own company The Old 93.  I am now living in Waco, TX and am available for travel for hand painted sign and mural needs.
